Retelling the story or the content of the poem in one’s own words LEARNING OBJECTIVES : At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: i. Recite the poem by using correct pronunciation and intonation 85% correctly ii. Explain the moral values by relating to their lives 80% correctly ACTIVITIES – : i. PRE-LESSON 1) Teacher greets the pupils and asks the students to explain the meaning of some words related to the poem. 2) Teacher proceeds by asking them to relate the poem with their lives. ii. LESSON DEVELOPMENT : 1) Next, teacher moves on by discussing the answers of the poem on “The Day the Bulldozers Came”. 2) Then. Teacher asks the students to list down at least two moral values that they can get from the poem. iii. POST-LESSON : 1) Teacher asks each student to come and write one moral value on the board. 2) Teacher goes through each moral value and explains in detail about the poem. 3) Teacher provides a worksheet on the poem as homework.
