What did you want the children to learn this semester?
Self- awareness, students should show their care and aware about social environment, both in local and international, school, home and all places. Self- management- skill, students should perform their self discipline and responsibility toward themselves and others. Social skill, students should be caring and respect to their friends and adults. Cognitive, students should show their understanding by absorbing about the learning engagement and come up with their action accordingly. Independency, students should be more confident to do their daily activities with less assistant both at school and home.
How did you know that the students learn?
Students are actively involved during discussion
session, it indicated that they have improved their thinking skills about the topics and develop their communication skill as well. Students formulate questions about the unit being taught. It showed that the students pay attention and be inquirers and enthusiast about the lesson. Assessment, I am able to recognize students’ understanding or whether they could achieve the requirements from criteria of rubric assessments. Students do the expected action at home as well as they experience at school. By showing great attitude, by learning the lines of inquiry and understand both the concept and the knowledge. How did you continue to learn and develop this semester? Keep reporting the progress, and discussing with coordinators, partners and colleagues to get more information for better improvement. By attending the Professional development sharing and actively participated. Exploring some resource, such as book or website, so I can get more ideas to What was some of the best or most interesting learning implement in the classroom that took place in your class this semester? effectively.
All of unit program of inquiries is interesting and rich
resources to explore for the students to learn.
The Venn diagram and T chart were some of the most
interesting learning. These activities develop many aspects of the skill; such as; Thinking, communications, self management skills and IB Profiles and Attitudes as well.
The Venn diagram, by learning it the students learn to sort
out the similarities and differences by classifying, sorting out the things. Unit 4 “How the world works” is the most interesting topic. The students also improved their social, communication, self management and thinking skills. At this time students have many opportunities to show their best performance, risk taker, communicator, during science fair, class assembly. It is of course needed teacher’s creativity to explore students’ knowledge and abilities.
