Medtronic offers technologies and solutions to treat a range of medical conditions including cardiac and vascular diseases,
respiratory, neurological and spinal conditions, diabetes and more.

“Dr. Ishrak is an internationally-recognized leader on healthcare, and we are fortunate to have him address this important issue
at the Club,” noted Mark Kennedy, Chairman of the Economic Club. “In addition to his healthcare expertise, he is recognized
as a top-tier business leader, and we look forward to his views on the challenges and opportunities he sees in the global
economy.”

Ishrak has focused Medtronic on therapy innovation, economic value and globalization. These strategies form the basis to
drive high quality patient outcomes, expand patient access to healthcare, and lower costs in healthcare systems around the
world. In 2014, Ishrak engineered the largest medical technology acquisition by purchasing Covidien, a global manufacturer
of surgical products and supplies, for $42.9 billion.

Ishrak joined Medtronic from General Electric Co. where he was President and CEO of GE Healthcare Systems, a $12 billion
division of GE Healthcare. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Diasonics/Vingmed and Philips Ultrasound.

Ishrak currently serves as co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Health and Healthcare Community, which includes global
leaders focused on shaping the future of health and healthcare. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Intel, the Board of
Trustees of the Asia Society and the Minnesota Public Radio Board of Trustees. He grew up in Bangladesh and earned a
Bachelor of Science degree and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of London, King's College. He is also a
Fellow of King’s College.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary season, the Economic Club of Minnesota is a leading venue for major speeches on business,
finance and public policy and provides a top-tier audience of business executives and policymakers for national and
international leaders to meet and exchange ideas.
