University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad.

Applications are invited through an online application form released in the Official
website for filling up the posts of Assistant / Assistant-cum-Computer Operator from the
candidates who are eligible as on the last date prescribed for making applications in the
University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad.

Note: As per the Cadre & Recruitment Regulations, in case of non-availability of suitable in-
service candidates, the posts shall be filled-up by candidates from outside the University.

QUALIFICATIONS PRESCRIBED AS PER THE C & R REGULATIONS

a) Must possess a degree of a recognized University.

b) Experience in Computation work and experience in data compilation is desirable.
Note: Should pass Accounts Higher Examination before declaration of probation.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE APPLICANTS

1. The entire notification along with all the details & the online application prescribed is
accessible from the official website (http://www.uasd.edu) of the University of
Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad.
2. The Online application form will be available in the official website from 9.00 am on
15.9.2015 up to 9.00 am on 15.10.2015.
3. The procedure for filling-up the online form is as under:
Step 1: The applicants have to register themselves by filling-up their full name (as
entered in SSLC marks card), valid e-mail id, valid mobile number and category
to which they belong. On submitting they will be re-directed to the mobile
verification page.
Step 2: The applicants shall enter the mobile verification code received in their
message inbox and submit the page.
Step 3: Thereafter, they will be allotted their registration number and get re-directed to
online application form.
Step 4: In the online application form, the applicants shall fill-up all the fields viz.,
personal details, location details, category details, special category details,
qualification details & employment details, if any.
Step 5: On submission the valid details, the applicants will be re-directed to photo
upload page. The candidates shall upload their pass port size photo in the
formats, namely, jpeg. or png.
Step 6: Further, the applicants will be re-directed to payment gateway, where, they will
pay the relevant application processing fee through debit card / credit card /
internet banking.
Step 7: On successful payment of the fee, the applicant will be re-directed to the
application preview and print page where the application made may be printed.
Step 8: Candidates who are already employed shall have to forward through their
employer the printed application form in the proforma at the end of their
application and send it to the Registrar, University of Agricultural Sciences,
Krishinagar, Dharwad – 580 005 via post.
Note: The candidates must necessarily possess a valid mobile number, email id, a
scanned photo in jpeg. or png. format and debit / credit card / internet
 banking provision for payment of application fee while making online
application.
4. No false information should be provided in the online form. In case if any information
filled by the candidates is found to be false or incorrect, their candidature will be
rejected without giving any notice.
5. Applications which are incomplete in any manner will be rejected. The applications for which
online payment is not successful shall be rejected.
6. The online application once filled can be edited by the candidate until the last date,
i.e., upto 9.00 am on 15.10.2015.
7. Application processing fee: (i) For candidates belonging to SC/ST categories – Rs.350/-
(ii) For others – Rs.650/- (inclusive of online amount collection fee of Rs.50/-).
8. Only those claims for which the candidates possess documentary evidences which are
within the last date shall be made in the online form with regard to their category,
qualifications, marks scored in various examinations, employment etc.
9. The roster prescribed for the posts notified herewith is in accordance with the following
Karnataka State Government Orders (a) No. SiAaSuI:21:SaHiMa:90, Bangalore, dt.
16.11.1995 (b) No.SiAaSuI:08:SaHiMa:95, Bangalore, dt. 20.6.1995 (c) No.SiAaSuI:
42:SeNeNi:2001, Bangalore, dt. 23.07.2001 (d) No.SiAaSuI:97:SeNeNi:2002,
Bangalore, dt. 22.11.2002 (e) No.DPAR 50 SRR 2000, dt. 3.9.2005 (f)
SiAaSuI:107:SeNeNi:2005, dt. 5.9.2005 and as amended from time to time. Further,
reservation for persons belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region is provided as per
GOK notification dated 7.1.2014.
10. As per the stipulations in the Government Order No.SiAaSuI:08:SaHiMa:95, Bangalore,
dt. 20.6.1995 and subsequent amendments, in case of non-availability of eligible
candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes viz., Cat.I, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B the posts
earmarked for the said categories shall be filled-up by candidates belonging to General
Merit and the unfilled roster shall be carried forward in the future advertisements.
11. Further, in case of non-availability of candidates belonging to special categories under
horizontal reservation such as Rural, Woman, Kannada Medium, Project Displaced
Person & Ex-servicemen categories, the posts earmarked for the said categories shall
be filled-up by other candidates belonging to the respective reservations as per the
provisions of the Government Order No.SiAaSuI:08:SaHiMa:95, Bangalore, dt.
20.6.1995.
12. The persons claiming reservation under Hyderabad-Karnataka Region have to enclose
requisite certificate issued by the competent Authorities in support of their claim. In case of
employees of UAS, Dharwad, only those who have exercised their option for the State Level
Regional Cadre are eligible to apply for the posts earmarked for candidates belonging to
Hyderabad-Karnataka Region.
13. Persons other than those belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region need not apply for the
posts under the said quota.
14. In case candidates belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region are not available for the post
reserved for the said category, the vacancy will be carried forward for future notifications as
a backlog.
15. The qualification for the said post is in accordance with the Cadre and Recruitment
Regulations of the University. The score card for selection of candidates for these posts in
accordance with the University Notification No.R/BOM-26/SC/2015, dt. 20.8.2015.
16. Candidates claiming reservation under Rural Category quota should possess the
certificate of study in rural areas (for 10 full academic years from 1st to 10th standards)
issued by the competent authorities.
17. Candidates claiming reservation under Kannada Medium Quota should possess the
certificate of study in Kannada medium (for 10 full academic years from 1st to 10th
standards) issued by the competent authorities.
18. Candidates claiming reservation under Physcially Challenged Quota, Ex-serviceman
quota and Project Displaced person quotas should possess the requisite certificates
issued by the competent authorities.
19. The applicants those belonging to General Category & Cat.2A/2B/3A/3B, who claim
reservation under Rural candidate quota, have to possess a certificate issued by the
competent authority confirming that they do not come under the purview of creamy
layer in the prescribed form, as per the Government Circular No.SaKaI:26:BiCiA:2002,
dt. 6.3.2002.
20. Ex-servicemen or children of defence personnel killed or disabled in action are
exempted from payment of application fee provided they furnish appropriate certificate.
21. The candidates who have studied under Trimester System and other than 10 point
grading system are required to produce the equivalent percentage certificates obtained
from the respective University.
22. Working hours of the University : 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (Saturday : 9.00 am to 1.00 pm)
23. The minimum and maximum age limit prescribed for appointment to the posts of
Assistant / Assistant cum Computer operator as per the C & R Regulations of the
University is 18 years and 40 years, respectively.
24. Candidates already in service (Government/Quasi Government or private) should
submit their applications through proper channel. Such of the candidates who do not
forward their applications through the parent office have to produce a No Objection
Certificate at the time of Aptitude / General Knowledge Test, failing which they will not
be allowed to appear for the interview.
13. All communications, in respect of applications for recruitment to the posts advertised by
the University, should be addressed to the Registrar, University of Agricultural
Sciences, Krishinagar, Dharwad – 580 005 (Karnataka).
25. The vacancies and roster now notified are provisional and are subject to variations. The
University reserves the right to fill-in any or all the vacancies.
26. The processing fee shall not be reimbursed in any case.
27. For all recruitments to the posts in the University, other things being equal, the
University employees shall be given preference.
28. Only candidates short listed based on the merit in the qualifying examination &
prescribed roster for each particular post will be called for Test / Examination and
interview at their own cost.
29. No recommendations should be forwarded to the University. Canvassing in any form
will disqualify the candidature.
30. The appointed candidates are governed by the Act & Statutes, Regulations etc. of the
University.
31. Mode of recruitment for the posts of Assistant / Assistant-cum-Computer Operator is
explained below, in brief.
 The score card for selection of suitable candidates for these posts shall be in
accordance with the University Notification No.R/BOM-26/SC/2015, dated 20.8.2015
which is published in the Karnataka Gazette dated 3.9.2015. The mode of
recruitment is explained below, in brief:
• Eligible applicants shall be invited for the Aptitude / General Knowledge Test in the
ratio of 1:20 for each of the posts based on the roster and merit in the qualifying
examination (i.e., Bachelors’ degree). For this purpose, aggregate marks of all the
years / semesters of the bachelors’ degree shall be considered.
• The Aptitude / General Knowledge Test shall comprise 100 multiple choice
questions each carrying 1 mark drawn from various subjects including General
Knowledge / Computer Knowledge for testing general ability, which is to be
answered in OMR Sheets.
• The duration of the test is for 90 minutes and the question paper shall be set both in
English and Kannada.
• Broad Syllabus for the examination – Science, History, Economics, Political Science,
Geography, General Knowledge, English Grammar, Mental Ability, Computer
Knowledge and Current affairs.
• The results of the said Test shall be notified in the Official Website of the University
within a week from the date of the examination / test.
• Only the candidates who score at least 50 marks (for SC/ST candidates 45 marks) in
the Aptitude / General Knowledge Test shall be called for interview.
• The date of interview and shall be notified in the Official Website prior to 15 days
from the date of interview.
• The Selection of Candidates shall be in accordance with the prescribed score card.
