Poison Gas-
Created due to the poisonous gas attacks that
took Allies by surprise. Revolutionized the war by
allowing troops to be in trenches and continue to
battle. The British were some of the first to come
up with the idea of the Gas Mask for their troops
who were in the Trenches.
Airplane-
Originally used to observe enemy troops.
Typically, they were unarmed and not used
in battle. One revolutionized take on the
plane during WWI was they began to arm
the planes and use them for attacks, many
aircraft types came after the airplane. That
are still used today by the Air Force. It was
first used by the Germans.
Automatic Machine Gun-
Automatic Guns were made to be able to
shoot with distance and not have to be hand
cranked. Saving time, although while in battle
the guns would become very hot, needing to
be cooled. Revolutionized warfare at the time
of WWI it made for better battle. The British
were the first to use the Machine Gun.
Zeppelins-
Hydrogen-filled air ships, were used by the
Germans. Used for specific bombings on areas,
they were able to reach a higher distance than a
plane. Also, used as a scare tactic. They
revolutionized war during the time by being able
to achieve attacks and bombings with more
visibility. First used by the Germans.
U-Boats-
Referred to as German Submarines. First
used by the Germans during WWI, used
against enemy Allies and were able to take
out ships, under water. Revolutionized war
by being able to take out ships efficiently,
even carried into WWII.
Convoys-
A system where the British Royal
Navy, would travel and protect the
merchant ships. This system was first
used by the British. This system
revolutionized war by being able to
detect movement of underwater
submarines and keep the supplies
safe and ensured to make it to Europe.
