Operation for initial start-up Basic setting
1. Turn on the power of the sensor.  Starting the Navigator
2. Double click the [IV-Navigator] icon. Click the [Sensor setup] button to proceed to “STEP1”.

3. Click the [Direct connection] button.

 Setting the Image Optimization


1. Click the [Trigger Options] button.

4. Click the [Connect] button.

5. Select the output polarity of the sensor. 2. Select the Trigger type.

6. The sensor setup screen will be displayed.

[Internal trigger]: The trigger will be input automatically, according


to the trigger interval settings.
[External trigger]: The trigger will be input when an external signal
is input. If necessary, set the trigger delay.
3. Click the [Brightness Adjustment] button.

4. Click [Automatic Brightness Adjustment] button. 2. Image the target and click the [Trigger ON] button.
3. Check the image displayed and click the [Register the image]
button.

5. Click [Focus Adjustment] button.

 Setting the detection tool (outline tool)


1. Click the [Add Tool] button.
2. Click the [Outline] button and click the [OK] button.

[Auto focusing type]: Click the [Auto Focus Adjustment] button.


The focus position is adjusted automatically.
[Manual focusing type]: The focus indicator will be displayed.
Image the target, and turn the focus adjustment screw until the
focus value reaches the peak mark.

3. Click the [OK] button and open the main screen for Outline tool
settings.
4. Set the position, size, and the angle of the tool window. The
detected outline will be displayed in green.

6. Click the [Next to STEP2] button to proceed to “STEP2”. 5. Click the [Limit Adjustment] button.

 Registering the master image


1. After setting the image optimization, press the [Register Live Image
as Master] button.

6. Set the threshold to judge OK and NG. 7. Click the [Limit Adjustment] button.

7. After the setting is completed, click the [OK] button. The display will
return to the main screen for the Outline tool settings.

proceed to “STEP4”.

 Setting the detection tool (Color Area/Area tool)


1. Click the [Add Tool] button.
2. Click the [Color Area/Area] button and click the [OK] button..

9. After the setting is completed, click the [OK] button. The display will
return to the main screen for the Color Area/Area tool settings.
10. Touch the [OK] button.
11. After the setting is completed, click the [Next to STEP4] button to
proceed to “STEP4”.

 Setting the detection tool (Pos.Adj.)


1. Click the [Add Tool] button.
2. Click the [Position Adjustment] button and click the [OK] button.
3. Click the [OK] button and open the main screen for Color Area/Area
tool settings.
4. Set the position, size, and the angle of the tool window.

3. Click the [OK] button and open the main screen for Position
Adjustment tool settings.
5. Click the [Setup] button for Color/Brightness Extraction. 4. Set the position, size, and the angle of the tool window. The
detected outline will be displayed in green.

6. Click the color/brightness to be the reference of judgment for the
Color Area/Area tool.

5. Click the [Limit Adjustment] button.
Start running
1. Touch the [RUN] button.

6. Set the threshold to judge OK and NG.

2. Confirm that the main screen is [Run].

7. After the setting is completed, click the [OK] button. The display will
return to the main screen for Position Adjustment tool settings.
8. Click the [OK] button.
9. After the setting is completed, touch the [Next to STEP4] button to
proceed to “STEP4”.

 Setting the output


1. Click the output line to assign the output function.

Output function Explanation


OFF No output assigned
Total Status When the total status result is OK, the output
is ON.
Tot. Status NG When the total status result is NG, the output
is ON.
RUN When the sensor is running with no system
error, the output is ON.
BUSY While the sensor cannot receive the trigger
signal, the output is ON.
Error When an error has occurred, the output is ON.
Pos. Adj. When the position adjustment tool is OK, the
output is ON.
Tool 1 to 16 When the result of the tool is OK, the output is
ON.
Logic 1 to 4 When the result of the logic is OK, the output is
ON.

2. After the setting is completed, click the [Complete] button.


3. Click the [Yes] button.
