Report on initial oral test

Given that pronunciation is not usually assessed separately in language tests, it was

necessary to design activities where learners would depict their level of competence

in pronunciation. Additionally the level of competence of the target learners was very

low, which implied that they could not perform sophisticated exercises. Thus, and in

order to do identify learners’ pronunciation, without alerting them that they were

being tested I provided a list of words and 5 sentences for them to read out loud, as

shown in annex 5)
