0020.130.010 KCH/K1t. 06/26/90 7/03/90 Parks and Human Services Committee ORDINANCE NO. _1573 ORIGINAL AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDMOND, WASHINGTON, CHANGING THE NAME OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE TO THE PARKS AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE, WHICH CHANGE SHALL BE REFLECTED IN REDMOND MUNICIPAL CODE 2.32.010 AND 2.32.020(4), AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Human Resources Committee recommended to the City Council that the Committee’s name be changed in order to more accurately reflect its function; Now, Therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDMOND, WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The name of the City Council Human Resources Committee is hereby formally changed to the Parks and Human Services Committee. Section 2. Redmond Municipal Code 2.32.010 is hereby amended to read as follows: The following standing committees of the city Council are created and established: (2) Finance; (2) Public Safety: (3) Public Works; (4) Parks and Human Services; (5) Planning: (6) Public Administration; and (7) Regional affairs Section 3. Redmond Municipal Code 2.32.020(4) is hereby amended to read as follows: (4) Parks and Human Services: Operation and function of City library facilities; parks and recreational needs; civil improvement needs and facilities; municipal cemetery; coordination of KCHOO7770 -1-educational programs and facilities; programs and facilities for senior citizens, underprivileged and handicapped persons, minorities and low-income families; and, generally, areas involving the preservation, protection and advancement of human concerns. Section 4. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of the ordinance or a summary thereof consisting of the title.
