Learning Objectives: Students will be able to show their understanding of the unit material by
evaluating artistic representations of the material and successfully identifying the key terms and
ideas that are present.

Stage 2: Determine Acceptable Evidence (Assessment)

Diagnostic/Formative Assessments: This is used as a review to see how prepared students

are for the summative assessment.
Summative Unit Assessments: This is a review that will be directly used to prepare for the
summative assessment.

Stage 3: Plan Learning Experiences (Procedure)

Schedule:
 Opening/Activator: I will start class on the first day, by explaining the schedule of the gallery
walk. I will explain that it is a silent activity where students will travel around the room in shifts,
spending one-minute looking at each project, during which they will try to identify the key
terms and ideas present in the project and write them on their notes sheet.
 Activities:
o Step 1: Students will all go choose one project to evaluate first. I will start the timer
and they will have one minute to look at the project and write down any key terms
they identify.
o Step 2: After 10 shifts, we will take a break and I will ask students to tell me some
of the key terms they have identified so far.
o Step 3: We will use the remaining time in class to go through as many more one-
minute shifts, as possible.
o Step 4: To begin Day 2, I will explain that we are doing another day of the gallery
walk, to look at Ch. 19 Projects and will use the same structure as yesterday. At
the end of the 20 minutes, we will take turns defining the many vocab words on the
back of the notes sheet. (To do this I will call on each student to give one of the
vocab words that they identified in the walk and give the definition.)

 Closing/Exit Ticket: Students will turn in their notes packet at the end of the class for me to
check and give them credit for the gallery walk.

Other Important Information
