Introduction
Main Base: Ethiopian Airlines’ hub and headquarters are

 Minimum level 5 ICAO English

Payment:
Salary:
USD$9000 Per Month

Overtime:
USD$1/80 per hour

Salary during Training:


Basic salary covering the training period will be paid within 6 months on
installment basis starting from completion of the training program

Accommodation/Transport:
Ethiopian Airlines shall provide:
 Hotel accommodation for 30 days from start of contract. Thereafter an
allowance of USD$1,250 per month will be paid. The accommodation
allowance may be paid in equivalent Ethiopian Birr per the exchange
rate issued by the Ethiopian Treasury Department.

Training Bond:
There is training cost USD 15,000 and it will be deductible from the employee

Flight Allowances:
Confirmed Business Class Seats anywhere on Ethiopian Airlines network to
Addis Ababa at the start of contract and on completion of contract.
In addition, for guaranteed days off they will be provided with either Business
Class sear, if not available Economy class seat or jump seat free of charge
anywhere on the Ethiopian Airlines Network

Annual Leave
Fourteen (14) days per annum, if leave is not used by end of contract the
personnel will be paid at 1.25 rate per day

Excess Baggage:
Excess baggage allowance contingency of 50 kgs at commencement and
termination of the assignment within the Ethiopian Airlines network

Commuting Pattern:
20 days on / 10 consecutive days off

Insurance:
Medical & Personal Accident Insurance provided by Ethiopian Airlines

What are the international schools like in Ethiopia?
There are many international schools available in Ethiopia. Schools are
usually geared for an international student body and follow a curriculum
model from the US, UK, or France. Primary instruction may be any language
(and multiple languages are usually taught), but it is usually in English or
French. Schools provide similar standards of schooling around the globe,
providing for an easy transition between schools whether they are in France
or Vietnam.

Is Ethiopia safe?
Like most places, there is some degree of crime in Ethiopia. However, it is
mainly petty and opportunistic crime on some streets, therefore be conscious
of what belongings you are carrying and be familiar of the streets which you
should avoid. However, the general consensus from the expat community
living in Ethiopia reveals that people living there feel very safe and have not
had any issues regarding their safety.

What is the transportation like in Ethiopia?


There have been many infrastructural developments in Ethiopia over the
years. However, expats may find driving themselves can be hazardous. The
Addis Ababa Light Rail is a light rail transportation system in Addis Ababa.
The best public transportation in Addis is the Blue-White line "taxies" which
are shared mini-busses. These are very cheap and go on most main roads.

What is the healthcare system like for expats in Ethiopia?


There are private and public hospitals in most major towns, as well as private
clinics. Dentists, opticians, ophthalmologists, ENT specialists, and
chiropractors are available. Prescription medicines are available through
pharmacies, both independent and on-site at clinics and hospitals. Most
expatriates prefer not to use the government run hospitals. Private-hospital
care in Addis Ababa is generally safe, and considered to be of good
international standard.

What is the social life like for expats in Ethiopia?


Clubs sponsored by hotels in Addis Ababa are popular with expatriates. Many
offer sports facilities, such as swimming and tennis, as well as opportunities
for social interaction. The sizable expatriate community in Addis Ababa offers
opportunities for socializing. There are social, church, cultural, and sports
clubs. Business associates and children's schools may provide introductions or
information on opportunities.
