Unit Summary:
• Hamlet continues to be a sophisticated piece of text (performed); from family disputes to mental illness, Hamlet is packed with an array of perspectives to study.
Shakespeare’s Hamlet remains as the most significant work of literature ever (my opinion only). Hamlet is a piece of literary text that is difficult to divulge, but I (as an
instructor) strive to make it practical, enjoyable, and relevant for students. The internet has vast amounts of resources for Hamlet. Literacy would improve through the
covering of Hamlet (these readings and relevancy towards the modern world will provide students with opportunities to think in a broader sense). Therefore, I want to create
diverse ways of engaging with the play. The Shakespearian text is not a graspable text to read, nor is it easy, but to read and comprehend a work as such will be achievable.
Lastly and most importantly, students will have an appreciation of a remarkable work of literature, better themselves personally, and academically.
