RESEARCH INTERN
Location: Colaba, Mumbai
For 3rd Year Students: Full time (3-6-9 Months)
For 2nd Year Students: Full time (2 months)

THE DŌMERIT PROJECT
The DōMerit Project will work with companies to ensure they are CSR compliant and
with NGO’s to ensure their projects are CSR fundable. The DōMerit Project will ensure
efficiency in the management of CSR funds and effective measurement of social impacts.

THE ROLE
The DōMerit Project is seeking Research Interns to be based at our office in Colaba
Mumbai. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a pioneering, versatile and
dynamic NGO committed to demonstrating new approaches that benefit human and
environmental development in India.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of a range of supporting
tasks to help determine suitability of projects and programmes for CSR funding.
Maintain a database of projects and programmes and develop a deep understanding of
the assessment criteria. The Research Intern will also support colleagues in the wider
development of the DōMerit Project. In order to fit within the small and dynamic team,
the successful candidate will also need to be passionate, extremely adaptable, and at
ease working in a fast paced and responsive environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• FIELD WORK – Carry out field visits to projects and programmes and conduct an
assessment of the activities including qualitative data analysis.
• RESEARCH AND MAINTENANCE - Maintain and keep up to date the existing
database of projects and programmes empaneled for support. To continuously
research new projects and programmes through primary research and maintain
contact with partner NGOs.
• INITIATIVE AND INDEPENDENT WORKING – Have the initiative to work
independently and with small teams on field visits, and be able to efficiently
source and communicate major challenges to management and supervisors.
§ CREATIVITY AND INSIGHT – Fresh thinking to address the challenges identified
in identifying suitable projects and programmes. Confidence to express new
ideas, support your research findings and an ability to communicate ideas
clearly to colleagues.
• ENGAGING NETWORKS – Engage with, follow up and maintain close contact
with key NGO partners, with guidance of management.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Applications from both 3rd year and 2nd year students will be considered.
• Relevant degree in social sciences, development or similar.
• Desire to gain knowledge in the social sector.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational skills, with experience of managing a complex workload of
priorities.
• Excellent IT proficiency, including familiarity with web based systems, and basic
website management.
