Core Return Criteria


1. All “Core Returns” require an RGA. Call Dura-Lite Customer Support at 800-661-1117.
2. “Cores” that are on the “No Core Charge List” D-0170, may not be returned:
• A “No Core Charge” Core, that has been returned, will not count towards the “12 Core Minimum”;
• The customer will be charged back for the freight of the “No Core Charge” Core; and
• If the total number of acceptable “Cores” returned is less than the “12 Core Minimum”, the
customer will be charged back for the entire cost of the Incoming Core Return Freight.
3. Check the castings (tanks) for any damage caused by collisions, such as castings that are broken,
cracked, crushed, bent or worn out. A Core is Unacceptable if either casting is broken, cracked (a
crack greater than 3” long, or that is less than 1” away from brackets, mounts, headers and/or
curved sections), crushed, bent or worn out. See picture UNC1, UNC2, UNC6 and UNC8.
4. Check castings for corrosion damage. Dusty surface corrosion is Acceptable without credit
deduction. Eroded castings are Unacceptable. Castings returned which have one Acceptable casting
and one Unacceptable casting will have a 50% reduction in credit per set. See picture UNC7.
Plastic tanks are Unacceptable. See picture UNC3.
5. Aftermarket coolers manufactured by, “CAC, G&O, Modine, Proliance, TCT, Transpro, and/or Vista-
Pro” are Unacceptable as Core Returns (KEDAC-13J is an exception and is an Acceptable Core
Return). In some cases they can be identified, by a series of small bolts that hold the center of the
cooler to the castings or orange rubber seals on the ends of the tubes. See picture UNC4 and
UNC5.
6. Drain any oil prior to returning. There is a $25 reduction in credit for any Core returned with oil
inside. See picture ADC1.
7. Castings returned (that meet the criteria noted above) that have been cut from the Core section will
be accepted providing a minimum of 6" of the Core is left on each casting. There is a $75.00
reduction in credit for each Core returned that has had the Core section cut. There will be no credit
given for castings returned that have less than 6" of the Core left on each casting.
8. An individual Core Return will receive a $25.00 reduction in credit for each occurrence deemed
to be an "Acceptable - Discounted Credit" (as per the Core Return Criteria; "Acceptable - Discounted
Credit").
9. An individual Core Return with more than 3 (three) deductions (as per the Core Return Criteria;
"Acceptable - Discounted Credit") will be deemed Unacceptable and No Credit will be issued. See
UNC9.
Acceptable – Full Credit
Acceptable returns are those, which have no damage, brackets are intact and there is no excessive
wear. Bolts must be removed and tanks straight, free from corrosion, and friction marks. There must be
no oil present inside the cooler.
