will sign in with the given information on the directions provided
by the teacher. The students will be given a student exploration
sheet that goes along with the simulation. The simulation can be
used for any amount of time each day. The student will go to
“find gizmos,” once logged in. They will then choose the option
“Gizmos By Academic Standard.” Then the student will choose
the state VA, and then click on 3rd grade underneath where it
says “VA—Standards of Learning.” They will then click where
where it is in blue stated “Rounding Whole Numbers (Number
Line). They will then start the simulation where it will guide the
student through some practice to show how it is done. The
student will be able to practice and increase their knowledge
about how to place points on the number line, work on
rounding values to the nearest ten or hundred. That will be done
by the student being able to visualize rounding by showing the

When the students get through their gizmo simulation, they will
have gotten practice and further knowledge on aspects of
rounding. They will need to turn in the completed student
exploration sheet to the teacher, so that the teacher can see if
they understand the concept or not. If the student is still having
trouble, then they can write down on the sheet where their
problem areas were and the teacher can see what will need to
be done for further learning and assistance.
