NEDP uses a criterion of excellence to evaluate mastery of skills, rather than comparison to others. Skills acquired
include a combination of basic academic, critical thinking, digital literacy, and self-management skills.
NEDP includes competencies in using resources and information and acquiring other skills necessary for successful
transition to postsecondary education, training, or employment. NEDP includes 10 competency content areas:
Communication and Media Literacy, Applied Math/Numeracy, Information and Communication Technology, Civic
Literacy and Community Participation, Consumer Awareness and Financial Literacy, Cultural Literacy, Geography and
History, Health Literacy, Science, and Twenty-First Century Workplace.
NEDP is an ideal solution for WIOA partners looking to develop an integrated education (IE) and training program.
The College and Career Competency (CCC) values industry certifications and helps WIOA partners satisfy common
measures of employment, including employment retention and/or advancement in today’s labor market.
