RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
Pear Deck is an additive software that augments apps like Google Slides with the ability for real-time student interaction.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PRESENTATION

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote students’ presentation/speaking/communication skills?

In any presentation, the teacher can sprinkle in Pear Deck questions to promote student attentiveness and interactivity.
Practically, though, I would use this application to gather real-time feedback from my students. In a high-level literature class,
I’d like to know how the students are receiving the readings; if they’re enjoyable, miserable, half-decipherable, etc. Pear Deck
would allow me to see my students’ anonymous answers in real-time so I can adjust my instruction to better fit their
educational needs.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
 Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I’m going to have to give Pear Deck the highly-coveted 3. It transforms the lessons by creating an environment where feedback
is integrated in the lesson, allowing for a more fluid and accommodating teaching strategy. It’s centered on the students,
providing a service by which they can directly impact the nature of their learning and direct the future of their content. In
addition to this, the ability to share their thoughts would increase student engagement and the enjoyability of the lesson.
