I. Introduction:
A. Ethics is a person’s moral foundation and it can also be what a person values, it’s
how they choose to act upon a situation and the person behavior.
B. Justice can be a fair and equal action ,or a fair and equal behavior toward other
people.
1. Ethics and justice are related because they are both traits a human can
have. Justice can fall under a person’s morals because it can be part of their morals or values to
C. The ethical framework that guides the ten rules is the duty framework.
A. In the ten rules to live by some of the rules fell under the same category. This category
B. One group of rules were to help someone in need and to think about other people’s
needs.
C. These rules were grouped together because they both show integrity and require purring
other people first or prioritizing other people’s needs. For example, these rules show
1.In one of the paideia discussions, “The Runaway Trolley”, one of the scenarios
was being able to “turn the trolley car onto the side track, killing the one worker, but sparing the
five”(Sandel 6). This shows how someone who didn’t have to do help or wasn’t obligated
helped, could help other people in need because they have integrity.
D. These rules connect to the duty framework because it shows the moral philosophy about
right or wrong, and focuses on how you will help someone and considers a person’s ethical

B. The rules that connect to that connect to this ethical decision are: do no harm, do not be
C. These rules were grouped together because they all show that a person should have
respect and be just towards people and that people shouldn’t be prejudice, especially in
D. These rules connect to the duty framework because these are rules are like steps that lead
into how yous should treat people during situations. Unlike, the consequentialist
framework where it focuses on the end result, the duty framework focuses on the
progress of how something is done considering how people are being treated.
A. For the third group of rules paired, they all focus on the way people are being treated like
B. The rules that were paired were to make sure everyone is treated with the same respect,
give the benefit of the doubt equally to people, and to make sure people are treated with
equity in situations.
C. These rules connect because they all require how you treat people these rules show that
should have integrity, respect and be just toward each other and to not change the way
D. All these rules connect to the duty framework because their purpose is the process of how
people are being treated in a situation. An example could be, how a teacher decides help a
classroom with different races or backgrounds, the duty framework would focus on trying
to help all of the students in the class and not focusing on the outcome which could

B. The last two rules are trying your best and being patient.
C. These rules were put together because they are based on a person’s behavior in an ethical

following moral rules or duty regardless of outcome”. This shows how the
someone acts or takes action is more important than the outcome of an
ethical dilemma.
D. These rules connect to the duty framework because they all show how getting
A. When creating the ten rules to live by list I wrote down some ethical morals and
behaviors I thought were important. After writing down the ten rules, some rules were
eliminated because they did not seem logically consistent with each other and some
B. When making revisions some rules were erased so that better rules can be written. Some
rules were changed because they didn’t seem that they were our obligation to each other.
IV. Conclusion
A. If I lived by these rules my life would be different because I would treat people
differently by that I mean I would think twice about people or more often of them. For
example, for the trolley dilemma something I would do differently from now was to take
into consideration the people that are going to be killed instead of just letting the situation
happen.
B. If everyone lived by these rules the world would be better because it should be in a
person’s morals to genuinely help their neighbor or a person on need and to be more
selfless.
