To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing in reference to Ms. Heather Milligan. I would like to strongly recommend her for a teaching
position in your school district. I had the pleasure of working with Heather during her student teaching
experience and am very impressed with her genuine concern for her student’s educational and emotional
growth, her work ethic, and her organizational skills in managing all her lessons.

Heather was an enthusiastic member of our team of teachers and was responsible for teaching English,
Reading and Mathematics to our seventh-grade learning support students. She effectively implemented
the curriculum and met the many challenges of the varied skill levels of her students. In addition,
Heather worked well alongside my colleagues, to strive towards meeting the goals of her students,
which has ensured her students have had a successful academic year.

Heather exhibited many qualities desired in today’s world of professional teachers. She was well
organized and manages her daily planning effectively. She not only was a flexible team player, but also
additionally took an active role in completing lesson plans beyond her course requirements. Heather
worked well with others and was a good role model for her students to emulate. Her creativity came
through in her daily classroom instruction and she worked hard to nurture a positive classroom
environment. Additionally, as an inclusion teacher who has co-taught with Heather, I have found
Heather to be open in trying new teaching techniques. She was always willing to work hard to
accommodate our special education students within her lessons and as a result, they have been very
successful.

I feel Heather would be an outstanding candidate for a full-time job as a classroom teacher. She
motivates her students to want to learn and will do whatever is necessary to make that happen. I have
enjoyed collaborating with her during her student teaching experience. I, myself, have learned and
grown as an educator as a result!
