OPERATION
Because belt tears normally occur over the length of a conveyor it is
very difficult to detect. When a belt tear occurred, the weight of the
material causes the tear to open and the material will spill through
the cut. The BT2000 has been designed and developed to catch the
spilling material in the basket. The weight of the material in the
basket will cause the basket to tilt backwards and a limit switch
under the basket will make or break a contact that is used to stop the
conveyor.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Fit up right vertical unistrut on both sides of
the conveyor, with the unistrut lip facing in-
wards towards the conveyor. Fit the unistrut
far enough apart in order to allow the belt to
drift to the left or right without touching the
unistrut. See installation positioning drawing.

Step 2
Measure the distance between the insides of
the unistrut brackets. Deduct 1000mm from
that distance. Take your answer and divide it
by two in order to get the distance that you CUT MOUNTING
BRACKET ARM TO
should cut the mounting bracket arms. De-bur THE CALCULATED
LENGTH
the cutting edges with a file to prevent the
switch wire from being damaged.
Step 3
Feed a rope or a draw wire through the mount-
ing bracket arm. Provision has been made to
pull the wire through to either the left or the
right hand side of the conveyor.

Step 4
Tie the other end up with the switch wire and
pull it through the mounting bracket arm

Step 6
Use the clamps to clamp the two parts together.
Both clamps must be used. Clamp as far as
possible to the edges. Before the clamps are
fastened, the mounting bracket arm can be ad-
justed outwards so that the foot pieces are
pressing on the unistrut brackets.

Step 7

Fit the mounting bracket arm foot piece to the

unistrut and adjust to the correct height

Step 8
This unit is reset by flipping the basket back-
wards, emptying the material that spilled on it.
It is important to adjust the height of the unit
where the belt on top of the unit don't prevent it
from flipping backwards.
