LO1. Understand media products and the institutions that create them.
This carries two grades. P1 and then P2,M1 or D1
Current Grade: Pass (LO1 part A) and Pass (LO1 part B)
LO1 part A.
This needs more detail
What the institutions market position is (how much does it make, how does it
compare) to their competitors?
Provide more detail on the advantages and disadvantages of the companies
competitors. Try to find subscriber numbers, for example.
LO1 part B
Try to add more detail where possible George. At times, it feels a bit
unfinished. Ensure you discuss the audience for the show.
You need to explain the typical TV show production process, without this the
work cannot pass. Once done, the grade should be a Merit.
LO2. Understand the relationship between media products and their target audience
This is graded either P3, M2 or D2
Make sure you explain who you think the audience is for the product you have
looked at. Use the terminology (demographics, socio-economic groups and
psychographics).
Explain the research you conducted. What was it for?
You need to ensure that you use the results to find out why and how people engage
with the media product that you have looked at. Aim for a short paragraph for each
question.
Consider Primary and Secondary audiences. Be more specific and explain in detail
regarding the demographics, socio-economic groups and psychographics.
LO4. Understand ethical, legal, and regulatory issues associated with media products
This is graded either P5 or M3.
