Prayer Focus
The places that are celebrated as having qualities that raise consciousness,
enlighten the mind, bring peace to the soul often seem to be located about as far
away from where you are as can be. That is no doubt intentional.
We hear of retreats in lots of different areas. Mountains and hills make a good
claim as the best locations for exalted spiritual insight and renewal, there is a long
Biblical history of mountaintop experiences.
When did you last hear someone talk about finding fertile ground for nurturing the
soul in your area?
Paul’s speech before the Athenians dared them to look at the evidence of the
divine in their midst, the divine had been underfoot. In the person of Jesus Christ,
God had become touchable, audible and visible for every man, woman and child.
This week source a pile of small stones or glass beads and every time you see,
hear or touch God’s work in your life and in your community place one of those
beads in a prominent area in your home, adding to it day by day as you witness
God at work, as a reminder and celebration.
