SSUSH19 Examine the origins, major developments, and the domestic impact of World War II,
including the growth of the federal government. a. Investigate the origins of U.S. involvement in the
war including Lend-lease and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor
Brief Description of Learning Experience: As you address the standards, what will students and teachers do? How will
the project be introduced? How long will it take to complete? What audience will use/care about the multimedia projects
students are creating? How broad is this audience? How will student work be assessed and by whom? Who will provide
feedback to students about their work? (Overview should be a minimum of 2 paragraphs)
The multimedia video covers America’s reasons for entering World War II. The students will watch the video and write a short
paper over FDR’s choices and how they affected the economy of the United States. The whole lesson should take one class
period.
Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: What LoTi level would this lesson be and Why?
This would be LoTi level 4. The activity would be student centered, and the corresponding activities require the student
to apply the content in an inquiry based scenario.
Importance of technology: Why is using a multimedia authoring tools critical to the project? Could the project be
completed without this technology? What would be lost without using it? What other types of technology, if any, are
going to be used in the learning experience?
This multimedia tool would have the students more engaged. Students show deference to multimedia tools, so integrating this
into a lesson would help differentiate for student interest.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Briefly discuss some possible issues surrounding internet safety and student
privacy that could arise while implementing this learning experience and explain how you’d minimize risks to
students/yourself, alleviate any fears by parents/administrators, and follow school districts’ Internet Safety/Use Policy.
Internet safety is always a concern. Many website require personal information; however, teachers need to be aware of this type

of privacy invasion before having the students engage in an online activity. Also, credit must be given to sources in case of
copyright infringement.
