EEI (ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF INSTRUCTION) - LESSON PLAN


ELEMENTS REQUIRED:
Objective Students will be able to write a bio poem about themselves in their poetry books.

Ask the students what the word bio means. If students need help, ask them what a

biography means. Tell the students that they will be writing a poem that is all about
them.

Teach Lesson / Go over with the students what a bio poem is exactly. Show the students the template
Model with and the rules that they need to follow when they are writing their bio poem.

As an example, show the students a bio poem written by the teacher. After reading it, go

through each line with the students to show them the rules that were followed to write
the poem.
Independent
The students will now get to write their own bio poem about them in their poetry books.
Practice
Walk around to help the students the may need a little help.

Have a couple of the students come up to the front of the classroom and share their bio

poems. Students will then be getting ready to pack so have the students write in their
agenda and quietly pack up.

Evaluation
When the poetry books are finished, the student will be turning them into the teacher
