EXPENDITURES AND
ARMS TRANSFERS
1966-1975
This publication is based on information available as of December 15, 1976. The data
presented in this report are the best estimates present sources permit. It should be noted,
however, that national data are not of equal reliability . Some are subject to a considerable
margin of error, especially for countries having a restrictive data disclosure policy or a
developing national statistical sys tern. The value data were converted to dollars using ex
change rates unadjusted for purchasing power parities, and thus prec ise comparisons be
tween countries are not valid.
Comments and queries regarding this publication are welcomed. They may be
directed to Colonel Norman M. Smith, Arms Trans fer Divisio n, (202) 632-0613.
