3. The student instruction project completed
in MEDT 7461 Instructional Design course
reveals in-depth knowledge of the learners
and learning environment at my school. The
project shows analysis of both demographics
and leaner needs before considering how
best to approach a unit on Medieval England
in a senior English class. The student
instruction project takes into consideration
the needs of all students as well as how to
best integrate technology. It highlights the
SLMS roles of Leader, Instructional Partner,
and Teacher.
4. The three-year budget developed during
MEDT 6461 Administration of the Media
Center course reflects the roles of the SLMS
as Program Administrator, Informational
Partner, and Teacher. The creation of the
budget was a painstaking process that
involved the consideration of multiple
factors and multiple revisions. The budget
includes a plan to expand technology,
learning spaces, and test preparation
software available to students and teachers.
It includes individual pricing as well as
written justification of all planned purchases.
It reflects the expectation that the SLMS
spend money ethically with the needs of 21st
skills and knowledge.
5. The CIPA Informational Flyer is designed
to apprise students of their rights and
limitations when accessing the Internet in the
media center. It promotes ethical
information-seeking behavior, advocates for
student rights, and promotes all students
integrating technology into their learning.

The flyer is brightly colored to appeal to


students and written in student-friendly
language so that all students can benefit
from the information.
6. I drafted media center policies in my
MEDT 7477 Technology for Media Services
course. The policies reflect the role of the
SLMS as Program Administrator and
Teacher. The policies are designed to allow
all students access to an effective and
efficient SLMP. Policies reflect the adopted
policies of the ALA as well as the needs and
demands of the student population.
7. The CIP to MARC records was created
during MEDT 7478 Cataloging and
Automation in order to practice creating
MARC records, a professional skill at SLMS
must have.
8. The OPAC exploration done in MEDT
7478 Cataloging and Automation details
seven online catalogs, including their
aesthetic qualities and content. Exploring
these catalogs reinforced the role of SLMS
as Program Administrator and evidences a
knowledge of collections and efficient
information-seeking behavior.

makes the case for the SLMS teaching
students how to use the Internet
appropriately. The paper allows insight into
helping students learn through integrated
technology.

teachers and students.
