Descriptions & Examples
Was an agreement signed and are there any terms that impact EATONs ability to development, source or deliver product. Who
owns design; supplier, Eaton or Customer?
Are there any Industry, Customer or EATON material standards or initiative that need to be considered during development and
sourcing. Regional Concerns. ROHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, ITAR

Review WISPER DMR record for issues related to materials. Hold review with Supplier Quality, Quality, Engineering, Supply Cha
(where appropriate the supplier) and any other related functions to build a dossier for the subject materials (if it exists) to allow
proper controls to be put in place to prevent reoccurrence. Example - "Customer Escapes due to improper residence time in m
for plastic component" Make sure this example shows up in the control plan versus a generic statement about process settings
What are the critical and unique features of this product that may not be captured elsewhere?

Have all elements of timing of deliverables been considered? Does the ProLaunch Project include any special or unique testing
requirements and sync with customer and supplier expectations? Example - "Customer requires samples of new components
testing outside of the normal PPAP process" Has this deliverable been captured and how does the timing impact the overall
schedule? Example - "Supplier must participate in Eaton end customer Quality Assessment as the end customer requires Eaton
sub-suppliers to be present on their Approved Supplier List" Has this deliverable been captured and how does it impact the ove
schedule?

Have all the expectations for delivery of Eaton products been established? Have clear delivery expectations with associated
volumes and usage by day, week, month been communicated to the supplier to support the Eaton assembly or manufacturing
operations and in addition do those expectations support customer expectations? Example "Eaton granted conditional approv
a supplier that has to manually test a component. The testing cycle does not allow Eaton to assemble in quantities that will me
customer commit dates." Or "Tooling transfer from one supplier to another for performance issues." Do we have a defined pla
for adding inventory to cover Eaton operations while we transfer and qualify a tool... keeping in mind the tool may have issues
Eaton or the new supplier are unaware of?

Are all the critical to quality characteristics of the product clearly identified in the drawing or purchase order requirements?
Example: Foreign Objects - Debris. Example - "We purchase a grommet that is sensitive to dust particles. Is this called out on
drawing? Part of any control documents? Are all existing design goals represented on drawings / within control plans and are
currently being met / measured and monitored?" Are leaky seals something that present themselves in the Material History?
the requirement to keep material free of Foreign Objects - Debris impact new packaging that may impact the Timing
Requirements?
Eaton's, End customer expectation
For assemblies or subassembly with multiple components, kits
Prints along with all applicable engineering standard noted on the print. Secondary engineering spec. that are referenced on t
primary engineering spec. Component prints. Assembly prints.
Identify special characteristics on the print (Critical, Key, Major) and provide supplier with initial and long-term process capabil
requirements. If print does not have any special Characteristics identified, consult engineering
Include any local, State, national / international / government regulatory requirements that impacts suppliers

Research and analyze specific markets the product will services/support and our ability to service those markets; consider
customer relationships, competitive intensity, regulatory factors, new technology, legacy business results

Research and identify feedback developed from previous projects; consider responses from the customer, supplier, project tea
and regulatory agencies. Also consider actions from DMRs, Customer and Supplier rejects, Design changes, Audits,

Research and identify the key Eaton and Customer metrics specific for your projects success; research internal departments an
external companies that currently exceeded in those identified measures; consider looking at performances at have won awar

Research and identify the specific key Eaton and Customer metrics for your projects success; compare results that can be used
measure the progression and performance of your project; consider financial, design, and operational metrics to compare how
the project is doing
