I am aware that UCC are progressing the staircase at GL G/H – 16/18 on the Main Villa

according to their Interior Design proposals.

You should all be aware that as of this moment COA has received no ID submission, drawings,
sketches – whatever from UCC and therefore we have nothing from which to base any review
upon other than what we have already.

I will give you some more information – the Client and UCC have agreed that UCC will carry out
the ID based on COA concept and design intent (James, please correct me if I am wrong on this
or add any further information)

This now poses a problem for us on site especially when we need to review a UCC submission
or attend a site inspection to one of the areas affected by a UCC ID change. We have no way of
knowing what the effect of the ID change may have on other elements of the design or works
have been built so far, also for any structural changes – such as the main staircase I would think
that Ansari would need a full set of coordinated structural shop drawings, and the BBS, Gamini
will need to review any architectural implications and Pradeep / Suresh the MEP works.

I believe that UCC should make formal submissions for any areas of the project that they
proposing to change or modify or anything that deviates from the IFC drawings and
specifications and I will be writing to UCC on this point, until then please be aware that the UCC
ID changes / modifications have not been submitted to us and yet we are supposed to continue
our submittal reviews and site inspections.

Until a solution can be worked out we will tackle each event on a case by case basis, but please
continue your work and ensure that you bring any event to either my attention or Jes / Nestor.
