The student will be able to find the line symmetry within a shape.

Main Lesson Aims (Concepts, Procedures, & Processes):

 The students will be able to explore the concept of symmetry by showing a picture of

butterfly.

 The students will be able to identify about lines of symmetry of 2D shapes (Square,

triangle, rectangle, circle, octagon, pentagon and hexagon).

 The students will be able to find the lines of symmetry of 2D shapes (Square, triangle,

rectangle, circle, octagon, pentagon and hexagon) and draw it on their A3 paper.

Materials: PowerPoint, pictures of signs, rules in cards,

Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge): time:

pentagon and hexagon) one by one to explain the line of symmetry.

 I will draw the lines on paper of shape after fold it and get equal part.
Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):

 I will make 7 groups of 3 in mix ability.


 I will provide them A3 paper and 2D shape to draw it and draw the lines of
symmetry on it.
 I will give them 5 minute for each shape.
 I will ring the bell after 5 minutes to stop work and move on another table
to do another shape until do 7 shape for each group.

 I will show them 2D shapes (Square, triangle, rectangle, circle, octagon,


pentagon and hexagon) to tell me how many lines of symmetry have on
PowerPoint.
