Discussion Questions for “Bang, Bang You’re Dead”

1. In the beginning of the film when Jenny is new and trying to find a seat in the cafeteria she is told “You
can’t just sit anywhere you want.” The girls went on to describe where you sit according to labels.
Think about this as it compares to your school.

Have you ever felt anxious walking into the cafeteria for the first time? Why/why not? Can anyone just
sit wherever they want in the cafeteria at your school?

2. Are there cliques/labels that exist in your school? List some examples.

3. Do you think labels are fair? What can be the problem with labels? Are labels ever positive?

4. The term “Group Energy” refers to a more common form of “peer pressure” that results when the
energy of the group causes internal pressure on us to behave in certain ways. Group energy is often
something that affects our perceptions and decisions.

Identify and describe a time either from this movie or from your own experiences where group energy
affected the decisions that someone/many people made.

5. Why do you think the “Trogs” wanted to befriend Trevor?
