We are one, we are . . .

One bread, one body, one people, united we stand divided we fall
If we put our trust in the Lord, there’ll be melody, love and harmony
In every heart.

Teach us to pray, Lord everyday,

Show us the way, help us see Your loving kindness.
(Repeat Refrain, repeat chorus)

V. OPENING PRAYER

Leader: (Micah Reyes)

Heavenly Father, you have created us for a specific purpose. Thank you for the
gift of life and love you have shared with us throughout our academic years. Thank you

1
for all the people who made us believe in ourselves and in the goodness within us.
Grant that we will become instruments of your constant love and affirmation. We also
pray for your grace that we may be able to respond to Your love in every circumstance
of our lives and may you always lead us to the path that you designed for us. This we
ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Commentator: Let us all be seated for the reading. (Reader: Pauline Operiano)
A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Philippians.
Whatever gains I had, these I have come to consider a loss because of Christ. More
than that, I even consider everything as a loss because of the supreme good of knowing Christ
Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have accepted the loss of all things and I consider them so much
rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having any righteousness of my own
based on the law but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God,
depending on faith to know him and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his
sufferings by being conformed to his death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the
dead.

It is not that I have already taken hold of it or have already attained perfect maturity, but I
continue my pursuit in hope that I may possess it, since I have indeed been taken possession
of by Christ Jesus.

Brothers and sisters, I for my part do not consider myself to have taken possession. Just one
thing: forgetting what lies behind but straining forward to what lies ahead, I continue my
pursuit toward the goal, the prize of God’s upward calling, in Christ Jesus.

The Word of the Lord

Commentator: Thanks be to God.

PART VIII. CLOSING REMARKS AND PRAYER

Commentator: When the end seems at hand, we take a moment to reflect and remember
that these young men and women before us, were not the same people who first entered the
very gates of St. Paul University Iloilo. They had to face a lot of challenges in the four years of
5
their stay here in the university. They had to grow up in order to become what we have
envisioned them to be, CAB Paulinian professionals.

To you, our Dear Graduating Students, we hope that what transpired here this evening
will be your source of strength as you face another chapter of your life.

Commentator: May we call on Mrs. Aurea Alyssa Garrido, Associate Dean, to give her Closing
Remarks.

Commentator: May we all stand for the all stand for the Final Hymn.

FINAL HYMN: PAULINIAN MISSION SONG

My goal as a Paulinian is this: to proclaim Jesus Christ as the Good News to all
In response to the need for the total salvation,
From materialism, unjust structures and apathy
Through education and care of the sick.
Thus if life seems rough and the way is dark,
I will remember this goal: to proclaim Christ at all times like Mary and Paul;
For I believe what Jesus said: “ I am with you till the end of time.”

And so each day, as I travel on, I will remember that I’m a Paulinian
Committed to Jesus Christ, my Lord to love and serve one another,
Till in Him we unite.

CELEBRATING THE GOOD TIMES….
