ROLE OF PROJECT MANAGER IN UNDERSTANDING ORGANIZATION’S


ACCOUNTING SYSTEM.

In my view, a project manager really plays a crucial role in the organization accounting system
whereas everything should be accountable. PM must be able to understand how the accounting works
in the organization first to have a grip on how he should manage the accounting part of the project. Cost
budgeting which is the important part of the account work must be done carefully by PM. This is to
ensure that the project handled by PM is able to finish early or on time and to make sure the budget is
sufficient solely for the project execution. In the case earlier, PM should not let the project to drag till
8 months of the due date for the project. Drag time cost a lot of budget and would even be a waste of
resources when the PM role is to ensure the project finished as scheduled. Besides, it is stated that any
savings from finishing the project early should be split between the state and contractor should be abide
by. Thus, when the contractor spent extra expenses and finished the project late, 400million of savings
should not be split between the state and the contractor as the project did not met the requirement stated
which is to finished early. It is the Project Manager responsibility to avoid and control all these things
from happened.
