Superintendent of Network Operations & Flight Information Systems, Minot AFB, ND, 2006-2007
Oversaw daily operations of a $22.5M internet and email network with 3,900 computers across 60 facilities that
supported 6,000 customers. Accountable for a $178K supply, training, and equipment budget with equal
responsibility for IT assets valued at $18M. Managed 75 personnel responsible for the installation, configuration,
troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance of base internet and email infrastructure.
• Member of leadership team that reorganized the unit after forced downsizing by 50%. Activities included
consolidating from nine facilities to three, cross utilization of personnel, and identifying new processes to
assure continued mission accomplishment.
• Masterminded the implementation of barcode accountability program for $18M of IT assets resulting in the
savings of seven man labor days per month compared to the pencil and paper method it replaced.
• Recognized as the best “Network Management Facility” in the Department of Defense, small unit category
in 2006 and runner up in 2007. A 99.8% network uptime rate enabled customer access 24/7/365.
• Developed eight “Employee of the Quarter” winners for the organization at the entry level, supervisor, and
manager levels. Six of these winners won at the next level of competition.
• Led the relocation of computer, telephones, and network infrastructure of 11 organizations over three
weekends to new facilities during building renovations. Customers were amazed.

Superintendent of Network Control Center Support & Wing Information Assurance Officer, Minot AFB, ND,
1999-2001
Managed the daily operations of the Communications Security, Computer Security, Emission Security, and the
Certification and Accreditation Programs serving 5,000 customers. Responsible for the receipt, storage, inventory,
use, and destruction of 35,000 classified cryptographic keys, codes, and documents. Managed IT equipment
supply account, responsible for 11,500 IT assets valued at $18M spread across 25 organizations.
• Identified and corrected login permission violations that gave all 5,000 customers “Super-user” rights on
the network, reduced possibilities for identity fraud and other detrimental activity.
• Transformed three marginal work centers, identified outdated processes, developed new procedures and
short and long term goals to get programs back on track.
• Coordinated efforts of 10 network administrators and 20 client support administrators to prevent damage
during “I love you” virus outbreak – contained & eliminated virus in eight hours – first base of 20 to
recover.
• Information Assurance expert – lead base through complex IT security compliance inspection – only
second base of 20 to pass
