Dear Friend,
Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I love the
verse of Scripture Jesus said, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw
all men unto Me." It is a verse many don't understand but nevertheless is vital for
our eternal existence. He was lifted up on a cruel cross to die for our sins, and
grant us entrance into His kingdom. I am still amazed that the Lord would love me
so much He would be willing to die for my sins! But not only for me, He died for
you, and the sins of the whole world, too! It is this kind of love that draws us
closer to Him. Every day I sense His presence drawing me, calling me to the foot
of the cross.
Jeremiah 31:3 says, "The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying,
Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness
have I drawn thee." His love towards us is an everlasting love! When He draws
us to His side, it is not to hurt us or punish us, but it is with lovingkindness He tugs
at our heart-strings. His mercy and pity towards us is a beautiful thing. His love is
so unique, so rare, that many cannot grasp the depth of it until they experience it
for themselves. He comes down to our level and presents Himself in all His
splendor. He tells us to come unto Him. In our darkest of nights, He says to our
hearts, "Come unto Me all ye..." When we are facing impossible circumstances,
as Peter and the disciples did one night, the Lord walked on the water towards
them. We read that Peter asked the Lord, "Lord, if it be Thou, bid me come unto
Thee on the water. And He said, Come" (Matthew 14:28 & 29). Peter had the
courage to step out of the ship and he actually walked on the water to go to Jesus!
Just on that one word, "Come." Is He bidding you to come to Him in an
uncomfortable situation? Are you afraid of all that you see around you and hear the
negativity like a wind swirling all around you? The Bible said, "He walked on the
water, to go to Jesus." He had fixed his gaze on the One who said to him,
"Come." As long as he was going to where Jesus was, he kept walking on the
water! What impossibility are you facing today? My wife always told the children,
"When you don't know what to do, always choose Jesus!" Go to where He is. He is
drawing you to His side. As long as you are following His directions, you won't
sink! He is always there for those who put their trust in Him.
There is a verse of Scripture in the Old Testament that I love. It says, "For
the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew
Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him" (II
Chronicles 16:9). The word "perfect" in the Hebrew is similar to the word
"shalom." It means "safe, unharmed, complete, peaceful, keeping a covenant
relationship." When we allow the Lord to draw us to Him continually, He shows
Himself strong or courageous or valiant towards everyone that puts their trust in
Him! I believe He is drawing you to Himself today. Will you come to Him? If He
draws you to Himself, He wants to speak to you, or show you things you've never
experienced before! You might be thinking, "But I am too old for the Lord to
bother with me!" That's not true, because the Lord made a promise to Abraham
when he was 75 and fulfilled it when he was 100! The Lord called Moses out of
the wilderness to lead Israel when he was 80, and he led Israel for 40 more years
after that! Caleb was in his 80's when he told Joshua he wanted his inheritance, and
he went and took it! Yes, age means very little to God as far as His promises are
concerned. It will be God's Spirit that will fulfill His will in your life anyway!
Come to Him today. You will never regret it! The Scripture says, "Faithful is He
that calleth you, who also will do it" (I Thessalonians 5:24). And He has called
you to turn to Him with all your heart and soul. He will accomplish His will in and
through your surrendered life. Remember, when we are weak, He is strong! He
will do His good pleasure in you today!
I invite you to our church services. We meet Sunday at 10 am and 7 pm, and
Wednesday at 7:30 pm. May God bless you "more abundantly!"
Sincerely,

Rev. Daniel Bossidy
