The Problem of Bullying

What is bullying?

Bully, Bullied, and Bystander

✗ Bully: Instigates situation, targets a


particular person or group of people
✗ Bullied: The targeted person or group (Satta)

✗ Bystander: Someone who observes a
situation of bullying and does not get
involved

Types of Bullying
✗ Physical Bullying: Bully attacks using physical force
✗ Verbal Bullying: Words are used to harm a victim
✗ Cyberbullying: Bullying is done over the internet
✗ Emotional Bullying: Bully tries to lower the victim’s (Moore)

✗ Prejudicial Bullying: Bullying is based on a prejudice
✗ Sexual Bullying: Sexual name-calling and rumors are
spread about a victim

✗ All bullying is prohibited
✗ Punished by detention, saturday school, or

✗ If repeated can lead to transfer to another

✗ EDHS faculty are willing to help
✗ EDHS uses an anti-bullying app to help report
bullying (STOPit)

bullying across the nation every day

bullying
✗ Make sure to tell a teacher, or authority if
you do see bullying
