Tourism is considerered a standing industry with significant growing and

stability in these years, which has been contributing significantly into Vietnam GDP
growth. There is no doubt that Vietnam is an very promising travel and hospitality
market for not only local but also international travellers thanks to the famous world
heritages in terms of nature, culture, etc. However, Vietnam has been lack of high
quality labor source to be well-trained, experienced in international standardizations
of hospitality services.
UFM Tourism faculty was established since 2010. Its objectives provide the high
quality labors as above mentioned. Especially, the faculty also puts efforts into related
researches and good relationship development with travelling enterprisers. Moreover,
basing on market approaches and updates, its programs will be built, revised and
modified to meet the labor markets.
The faculty with Ph.D. and MSc. lectures who graduated well-known foreign
Universities and leading Universities in Vietnam have had much real experience. It is
comprised of the following two divisions:

 Division of Hospitality – Hotel and Restaurant Service Management: There are


two programs, Hospitality Management, Restaurant, Food and Beverage
Management. Its programs were designed and based on the training materials of
famous international universities specializing in the training of tour and hospitality
management such as University of Houston | Conrad N. Hilton College, America;
SHMS, Swiss; The Hotel School Sydney, Australia.
o Hospitality Management: The person who has the bachelor degree of
hospitality management major can work at world-class hotels, resorts,
restaurants, event companies, tourist villages, Bistro/ bar, casino, golf
complex…
o Restaurant, Food and Beverage Management: The person who has the
bachelor degree of oRestaurant, Food and Beverage Management major
can work as a manager at the restaurant in hotels, conference centers,
wedding and convention centers, fast food restaurants, canteens (School,
hospital…)
 Division of Tour: There are two programs, Tour management and Tourist event
management. Besides the trained-knowledge of politics, economics, society and
culture, Students will be trained deeply in managing Tour business, Tour
operation, Tour agents, Tour guidance; Developing scripts tourist events and tour
expedition.
o Tour management: The person who has the bachelor degree of tour
management major can work as Tour guide; Tour operation
management, Resort management, Tour sales-man; Immigration staff…
at Tourist companies specializing in domestic and international market,
Event companies, Resort, Public tourist offices.
o Event management: The person who has the bachelor degree of event
management major can work as Events planning and organizing staff;
The image manager of celebrities; The staff of tourist companies, Event –
communication companies, Entertainment-service companies, Public
tourist offices.
3. functions and responsibilities
3.1. Functions: Advising Rector on tourism training, researching and outside
associations; Managing and conducting the training programs, researches and
related updates.

3.2. Responsibilities: Developing, scheduling and conducting training programs;


Organizing the researching activities and actively joining the related projects of
both local and international; developing the networks of businesses and markets
to get the training programs and reseaches closely with reality.
