OBJECTIVE
1. To provide students with insights into the finance profession.

2. To expose students of the current issues in finance and significant information in industry.
3. To enhance students‟ knowledge as to what is required in every professional and to instill
the importance of lifelong learning spirits in students.
4. To prepare the future finance graduates according to current finance issues.

6. To promote networking of finance students from different universities
in Malaysia.
7. To build relationships and bridging gaps between big companies and future potential
graduates.
INTRODUCTION
For the very first time, Multimedia University (MMU) is the new proud host of FES
Young Financiers Summit (FESYFS) 2012 and Faculty of Management (FOM), Multimedia
University has selected Financial Engineering Society (FES) to hold this prestigious event.
FESYFS 2012 is initiated by FES in line with its commitment to the development and
advancement of the finance profession. This summit will prepare the young financiers to face
challenges ahead as Malaysia is going to achieve a self-sufficient industrialized nation by the
year 2020.
FESYFS 2012 also included participation from various universities where we will
attempt to obtain the involvement from as many higher education institutions in Malaysia
offering finance-related programs as possible. This is to ensure diversity of participation since
the primary objective of this summit is to enhance networking and contact among finance
students from different universities. Besides that, FESYFS 2012 is stressing on how to prepare
the future finance graduates according to current global finance issue (Eurozone) and nation as
well. To become a developed nation by the year 2020, it encompasses many aspects of life and
one of it is economic prosperity aspect. . As outlined in nine strategic challenges that Malaysia
must overcome to achieve the Vision 2020, one of the challenges is to establish a prosperous
society with an economy that is fully competitive, dynamic, robust and resilient.

Skill in the graduates only is not enough if do not apply but this summit will expose them
more with the real situation through the correct pathway or career. Apart from that, from this
summit also may expand the participants‟ thinking or view in order to widen their knowledge not
just in classroom. This initiative may boost their interest in finance and change their perspective
on the current situation. Many finance students may be seeking this golden opportunity to
participate in while they may also establish their networking with finance students, finance
graduates, lecturers, professionals from industry and many more.
In line with this year‟s theme of “Young Financiers for the Future Malaysia”, this summit
will allocate one hour duration of time for participants to sit and discuss among themselves. The
issue that will be discussed during the summit will be raised up by every single participated
university and each participant will have the opportunity to voice out their opinion and also listen
to what other participants have to say in order to meet the benchmark that has been set by the
sponsors. The outcome from the very beginning of this summit until the end will be recorded and
FESFYFS 2012‟s working committee will email the information or the output from this summit
to each participant. Exhibition by selected sponsors are also available during the entire one day
event which can be a medium or channel for companies and participants to meet and look for the
opportunities that can benefit both parties.

MARKETING STRATEGY
In order to ensure the students from 16 universities (17 including MMU) to

participate the activities prescribed above, a very well planned publicity effort will be started on
July 2011.
 Social network websites such as Facebook, MMU Website, Siti Hasmah Digital
Library‟s Website, bulletin board and also intranet network would be used to spread the
news about this event. Any updates about this event will be update through FES Young
Financiers Summit 2012 Group. Mass media such as newspapers, magazines and radio
stations would be used to promote this event
 Flyers and posters will be distributed among us in Multimedia University campus and
outsiders. Banners and buntings will be hanged outsides and inside of Multimedia
University campus to promote this big event to attract students from other universities
and also in Multimedia University itself to attend and participate.
 We will create a personal relationship with all the universities‟ Finance Society or Club
president to assist us in contacting and reaching out to the university‟s students. Besides
that, by contacting the Finance Society or Club presidents personally, they will have a
sense of responsibility to bring certain amount of students to participate FES Young
Financiers Summit 2012. Committees from FES Young Financiers Summit 2012 are
allowed to use their own personal connections to create awareness of FES Young
Financiers Summit 2012
 Participation from the MMU students are by invitation only and limited to those whose
CGPA and has demonstrated leadership during their time in MMU. The invitees will be
final year students. Selection will be done by the Financial Engineering Society Advisor.
Their participation will be sponsored by the conference budget.
