Activity 1 Warm-up
Aims:-to draw attention to the topic
Procedure
T shows Ss pictures containing a fishing village, a famous(luxurious) resort, a
crowded beach....etc,) and asks them what these images represent
T asks Ss questions like:"What kinds of places you like when going on holiday?"
"What thing is important when choosing a place?" "But what about your parents?Do
they have the same preferrence?
or/and
T asks Ss to close their eyes and think of the first image it comes through their mind
when they hear the word holiday
In this way making a link to the aim of the lesson
Activity 2 Listening
Aims-to develop the skills of listening
-to make Ss select relevant info
T asks Ss in pairs to take notes while listening to a conv between two members ofa
family arguing whether to go to Mamaia or to a quiet place(for ex Rasinari);each of
them presenting his/her own reasons
T asks Ss to sum up the conversation in a sentence/two words/a word...
Activity 3 Pre-reading
Aims-to help Ss to predict the content of the text
T divides the class into groups of three or four and gives X quatations about holiday
T asks Ss to discuss the given phrases and state their opinion
Activity 4 While-reading
Aims:-to practise reading comprehension
-to help Ss identify specific info
T directs Ss the attention to the reading text
