Dear Interviewer’s Name,

I am writing to express my interest in applying for the elementary level teacher position in your school district. Just
recently graduating from Texas A&M University - Commerce, acquiring a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary
Studies, majoring in EC – 6th Generalist, my preference is to start my teaching career in your district. My full year
student teaching experience at Billie Stevenson Elementary, in Rockwall ISD, has shown evidence of the highest
caliber of teachers, and I am eager to contribute to that same degree of excellence in your school district.

I am an ideal candidate for the teaching position because I not only have the most updated educational knowledge
and pedagogy, I also understand and agree with the mission and vision of your school district. I have witnessed this
same excellence first hand while volunteering at my children’s schools in the PTO (11 years), creating the yearbook
(11 years), being on the Royse City High School Band Boosters Executive Board (6 years), and by my experience
while being involved with the Royse City Permanent Facilities Committee in 2016 and the Royse City Bond Steering
Committee in 2018. I strongly agree that a teacher’s job does not stop at the door, and to have student success,
the teacher needs to partner with the parents and the community.

I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my recent education and my passion to teach
would be beneficial for your school district. My contact information is listed below. I truly look forward to meeting
you and hopefully building a wonderful career with your school district.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”

- Benjamin Franklin

Sincerely,

Sheri Hanson
