Re: Peace talks between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the United States
It is a pleasure to once again be sending you communication. I would like to tell you that I am
extremely proud of you and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea for not only engaging in peace
talks with the government of South Korea but for reaching out to the government of the United States,
for the purpose as to expressing a want for peace talks occurring between both the Democratic People’s
Republic of Korea and the United States. As I predicted, I was confident that the government of the
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and that the government of South Korea would engage in peace
talks between one another. My prediction came true and I am extremely happy that this occurred
between the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the government of South
Korea.
Since the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has reached out to the
government of the United States, for the purpose as to expressing a want for peace talks to occur
between one another, as I have stated in past communication to you, I believe that it would be more
effective and productive for the peace talks to occur in private and behind closed doors. I believe that
the peace talks would be more effective and productive if they also occurred in some type of neutral
country, such as Switzerland, in which representatives of your country or you would travel to, for the
purpose of being a participant in the peace talks. I again have this stance because I do not want politics
or political influence to be allowed to stop or to prevent diplomacy from occurring between one country
to the other or vice versa. I believe more objectives that representatives would bring to the table would
become more of a reality if the peaceful negotiations occurred behind closed doors and in a country
that was neutral to the conflict between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the United
States.1 To be fair, I believe that the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea should
have a right to be a participant in the peace talks occurring in a setting that is not more or less of an
advocate to the United States and I also believe that the United States has a right to be a participant in
the peace talks occurring in a setting that is not more or less of an advocate to the Democratic People’s
Republic of Korea.
1
When the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the government of Japan enter into
peace talks with one another, I believe that those peace talks should also occur in a country that is neutral to the
conflict between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Japan. This I believe will help ensure that the
peace talks occurring are fair and are not biased.
A factor of the conflict between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the United
States are security concerns. It does appear as if both sides do have security concerns against the other
country. The government of the United States does not want the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
to have nuclear weapons due to some concerns that the nuclear weapons would be used against the
United States.2 The government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea does want nuclear
weapons for the purpose as to protecting themselves from being attacked by a foreign country.3 So, for
the peace talks occurring, I believe that a compromise, give and take scenario, needs to occur.
Something along the lines of the joint war games, the hostile Twitter.com tweets stopping and sanctions
being lifted, to some type of establishment of a sole executive agreement being mutually agreed to, or
to a treaty being established and mutually agreed to. But the establishment of a sole executive
agreement or a treaty will be more likely to be accomplished once both parties address their security
concerns that they have against the other country, with the representatives of that country being
present in the peace talk meeting. When this occurs, I believe that misunderstandings, agreeing to
disagree on some issues, a peaceful resolution being established on other issues occurring, and a
peaceful settlement being agreed to would be more of a reality.
Respectfully,
Isaiah X. Smith4

I disagree with somewhat of this standpoint because it is hard to imagine the government of the Democratic
People’s Republic of Korea launching a nuclear weapon at another country when the People’s Republic of China is
an ally to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

I disagree with somewhat of this standpoint due to the fact that the People’s Republic of China is an ally to the
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. It is hard to imagine a country actually launching a military operation
against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, so long as the People’s Republic of China is an ally of the
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
