ABSTRAK

Daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson Ex F.A.Zorn) Fosberg) merupakan salah satu tanaman
yang secara empiris berkhasiat sebagai antihiperglikemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui efek serta dosis efektif ekstrak daun sukun dalam menurunkan kadar gula darah pada
hewan uji tikus putih jantan model hiperkolesterolemia diabetes yang diinduksi pakan tinggi
lemak dan streptozotocin. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan 30 ekor hewan uji yang
dikelompokkan dalam 6 kelompok dengan perlakuan yaitu kelompok kontrol normal, kontrol
negatif, kontrol positif metformin, dan 3 kelompok uji dengan variasi dosis ekstrak masing-
masing 100 mg/KgBB, 200 mg/KgBB, dan 400 mg/KgBB. Berdasarkan uji statistik one way
Anova dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Post Hoc Duncan diperoleh
hasil bahwa Ekstrak etanol daun sukun memiliki efek antidiabetes pada tikus yang diinduksi
streptozotocin dan pakan tinggi lemak. Ekstrak etanol daun sukun dosis 100 mg/kg BB
merupakan dosis yang efektif untuk menurunkan kadar glukosa darah karena sebanding dengan
kontrol positif dan mendekati nilai kadar glukosa darah normal.

ABSTRACT
Sukun leaf (Artocarpus altilis (Ex FAZorn Parkinson) Fosberg) is one of the plants that are
empirically efficacious as antihyperglicemia. This study aimed to determine the effects and the
effective dose sukun leaf extract in lowering blood sugar levels in animal models of male rats
induced hypercholesterolemia, diabetes high-fat feeding and streptozotocin. The study was
conducted using 30 individuals tested animals grouped into 6 groups with a treatment that is the
normal control group, negative control, positive control metformin, and 3 test groups with a
variety of doses of each extract 100 mg/KgBW, 200 mg/KgBW, and 400 mg/KgBW. Based on
statistical test of the one-way ANOVA with a level of 95% and continued with Duncan Post
Hoc test result that the ethanol extract of sukun leaf has antidiabetic effects in rats induced by
streptozotocin and high-fat feed. The ethanol extract of sukun leaf dose of 100 mg/kg dose is
effective for lowering blood glucose levels as comparable to the positive control and approaches
the normal blood glucose levels.
