“IL Activate EMS and note the length of unconsciousness
“Ill. Secondary Survey (make sure head is stabilized during survey)
Va, Determine level of consciousness
Vi. Stuporous-victim is asleep most of the time, is difficult to
arouse and responds inappropriately to verbal commands
¥ ii, Semicomatose-victim has lost ability to respond to verbal
stimuli but has some response to painful stimuli
iii, Comatose-no response to verbal or painful stimuli and no
motor activity is present
Vb. Check alignment and position of body (may observe posturing-
decerebrate or decorticate rigidity)

Ze. Check color, texture, and temperature of skin -
