Matt Withers is an internationally acclaimed classical guitarist and member of Australia’s premier
guitar quartet, Guitar Trek. He has released a number of albums including, most recently, Serene
Nights on ABC Classics. His interests include helping to continue the growth of Australian music and
bring it to wider audiences. Matt will present a concert featuring the winning works in Canberra on
Sunday 13th November (*see no.14 T&Cs). Full details www.MattWithers.com.au/Events
Dr Robert Davidson is Head of Composition at the University of Queensland. Davidson has been
featured as a bassist in many festivals, performing chamber works with artists such as John Williams,
the Brodsky Quartet and Ensemble 24. He tours internationally with Topology and other ensembles
and his compositions are regularly performed, recorded and broadcast around the world. All of
Australia’s professional orchestras and many leading festivals, soloists and ensembles have
commissioned and performed his works, including the Brodsky Quartet (London), Australian String
Quartet, Karin Schaupp, Southern Cross Soloists and many more.
Upon retirement from the workforce Sue realised her long-term dream and undertook study in
watercolour. James Fearnley, a watercolour painting specialist, taught Sue the basics. From there
imagination, perseverance and innovation joined forces and Sue's works took on a unique identity.
Most of her work is termed "mixed media", and ranges in size from miniatures (100mm x 100mm) to
1.2m x 1m.
Drawing inspiration and painting from memory of places visited on travels and bushwalking, Sue’s
work is more abstract than realism. Her paintings are held in private collections around the world from
London, France, the U.S. and of course across Australia. In 2016, Sue continues to paint expressive
abstracts of the forest, outback and ocean. To purchase her other artwork, contact Sue via email with
