AGENDA 1 : KEYNOTE ADDRESS

1.1 The head of the panel welcomed and thanked the advisor and all
English teachers for attending the 3rd panel meeting for the year
2017

1.2 Hope that the members will all work together and discuss about the
curriculum issues and how to overcome pupils’ problem in learning
English. Teacher must always try their best to educate the pupils to
achieve good results in their examination.

1.3 Hope all the members will guide each other if have any new
methods or strategies to make the English language is fun and
attractive for pupils.

AGENDA 3 : EVOKE ISSUES

3.1 Amazing English Programe will be held after UPSR due to the time
are not suitable for any events because pupils in Year 6 will sit for
UPSR in September

AGENDA 4 : DISSCUSSION ON CURRICULUM ISSUES

4.1 Post-Mortem of Mid Term Examination

Year 1-3

Pupils weak in vocabulary, reading, grammar

They could not build the sentence because did not understand the meaning of the
words given.

Questions given are not relevant due to the student did not achieved the high level in
their classroom.

Year 4-6

Weaknesses in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, constructing sentences,


Pupils did not understand the passage and they did not read the passage carefully and
just answer the questions.

Demotivated to answer the questions in paper 2 and they also lazy to write the answers
in the space provided.

How to overcome

Level 1

 Give more drilling and exercises during the lesson in the classroom

 Use flash cards to attract their attentions because they like to see the picture and
can memorize it.

Level 2

 More on reading and writing exercise.

 Question-answer activities orally to ensure they understand what they read.

 Use interesting picture cards and ask them to find the key word for the pictures
shown

 More grammar exercisers and usage of dictionaries

AGENDA 5 : MBMMBI

5.1 Activities must be conducted to prove that we have our own


activities for MBI programme. Panel Members agreed to continue
the activities as planned after UPSR as the one of the programe
after UPSR.

AGENDA 6 : SCHOOL BASED ASSESSMENT (PBS)

 Carry out continuously from year 1 to year 4 ( minimum twice a year)


 Assess the pupils based on the Standard Prestasi and make it offline record.

 Forms and template distributed by the Head of English Panel.

AGENDA 7 : LINUS

Intervention are planned to help the LINUS pupils who are not achieved in Saringan 1. It
will help the pupils to answer the questions given.

LINUS saringan 2 will be held on August until September.

Due date on 16 September and teacher can upload the report on NKRA website before
30th September.

AGENDA 8 : OTHER ISSUES

8.1 Pn Norlaili urged the teacher concerned to conduct spelling drilling


in classes to improve pupils spelling skills

8.2 Mentor mentee Program for helping LINUS pupils have conducted
as usual until they can read. Mentors always ask pupils to meet
them at the three session

9.3 The advisor urged the English teachers to work together for the
best interest of the pupils SKST

The meeting was adjourned at 3.00p.m with Al-Asr recitation.
