To Whom It May Concern:

As David’s ninth and tenth grade honors English teacher, his Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow I teacher,
as well as his SCA advisor, I have had the amazing opportunity to observe David’s extraordinary
intellectual and behavioral attributes in and out of the classroom. As David’s teacher and mentor in one
capacity or another throughout his high school career, I have had the pleasure of witnessing David grow
not only as an individual, but most importantly, as a leader. I have seen David mature and progress in
various domains throughout his four years here at Cox High School and I am proud to say that whether
David is a student in my English class, whether he is leading an SCA event, or whether he is teaching a
group of elementary students, David has without a doubt always remained motivated, positive, and
dedicated.

In class, David applies himself and dedicates himself to every assignment or project. David consistently
answers with a “sure” to whatever you ask of him and sure enough, he is one of the few that follows
through. David’s willingness to work hard, to be prepared at all times, and to be a team player makes him
a role model for other students in and out of the classroom.

As a vital member of his Student Council Association and Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow class, David
demonstrates his outstanding leadership qualities daily. He shows initiative and enthusiasm in whatever
goal he sets for himself and for other members of the student body. Due to her persistence and
adaptability, he always achieves that goal and also makes sure that those around him are successful as
well. He has served as a freshman orientation leader, Powderpuff coach, leadership workshop delegate,
Cox Camp coach, and the list goes on and on. David has participated in countless projects in the school
and community. David is always the one to volunteer.

What makes David even more special is his kind and loving personality. He is never hesitant to help
someone in need, no matter what the situation. David has an unsurpassed dedication and genuine
compassion for the tasks and people he is devoted to. His positive outlook on life and situations is
contagious to those around him. I have not only enjoyed mentoring David over the past four years, but I
have also enjoyed learning from him.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Nardelli
