Dear Designers,
Joined: 01 Dec 2010
Posts: 5 Require your inputs regarding approximate reinforcement quantity for various works as mentioned
below:

Raft
Footings
Columns
Beams

Waffle Slab
Retaining Wall
MIVAN slab

For estimating purposes:

Raft: 80 - 90 kg /cu.m.
Footings: 60-70 kg /cu.m.
Columns: 180-200
Joined: 26 Jan 2003 Beams: 160-175
Posts: 1039 Flat Slab: 110-125 (depends on whether lateral stiffening system is provided or not)
Waffle Slab: 110 (for slab only) kg/cu.m.
Retaining Wall - depends on many factors

Approximate quatty of reinf based on concrete Quatty

Raft=125-150 Kg/m3
Isolated Footings =65- 75 Kg/m3
Columns= 250 Kg/m3 at Base/and 200Kg/m3 at topmost (Average =225Kg/m3)
Joined: 26 Jan 2003 (Laps consumes substantial steel)
Posts: 2212 Beams = 225kg/m3 (conc quatty including total depth of beams)
Beams = 275 kg/m3 (conc quatty based on downstand depth of beams)
Slabs = 90-100Kg/m3
Flat slab = 175-200 Kg/m3
Waffle slab =150-175 Kg/m3
OHT = 90 Kg/m3
Retaining walls =100- 125 Kg/m3

Figures may vary depending on case to case but may not be very off

Dear Er Ashraf Ansari

just rough projections

Form work Quatty

Joined: 26 Jan 2003 Beam and slab construction
Posts: 2212 Generally underside area of slabs/beams , sides of slabs, beams , columns and also footings
constitute the form work - - it could be about 175%-200% of the total (slab) area.

Steel reinf on area basis

Slabs - - - 0.9 to 1.1 Kg/sqft
beams - - 1.2 to 1.3 Kg/sqft
Columns - - 0.5 to 0.6 Kg/sqft
Footing - - 0.4 to 0.7 Kg/sqft (depends on sbc)

Total = 3.0 to 3.5 Kg/sqft

Add for wastage and laps
