A Eucharistic Celebration

Entrance Symbols are carried in by the candidates. The


Lectionary is carried in by the readers. ‘Shine Jesus
Shine’ is being sung by the choir and students are
performing liturgical dance. Eucharist banners made
in art are hanging and presented.

Theme and Welcome Two students are to write a welcome based on the
Eucharistic celebration with the theme being ‘God
loves everyone no matter their differences’. They
introduce the art work that is displayed which
highlights what they have learnt in Religious
Education. They end their welcome together by
saying “The Eucharist is Jesus’ gift to all Christians.
The Eucharist allows us to give thanks to God and
strengthen us to love others like Jesus taught.”

Penitential Rite Jesus, you strengthen us with your Body and Blood.

Opening Prayer Let us pray:


Dear God, you know and love each of us personally.
Jesus your Son gave us the Eucharist. As we celebrate
this Sacrament, help us to love others as ‘another
self’. We ask this through your Son Jesus, in union
with the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.
All: Amen.

First Reading The Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-27)


This is the Word of the Lord.
All: Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm Response: You have given us bread from heaven.


(Psalm 92:1, 4-5) How good is it to give thanks to you, O Lord, to sing in
your honour, O Most High God.

Gospel The Two Great Commandments (Matthew 22:34-40)


This is the Gospel of the Lord.
All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Homily The Happy Priest – The treasure of the Eucharist.

Prayer of the Faithful The students write prayers related to the theme of
‘God loves everyone no matter their differences’.
Students have rehearsed role play’s that will occur
through mine as tableaus during each prayer of the
faithful.

Preparation of the Gifts The gifts of bread and wine are brought forward to
the alter. The students line the aisle and pass the gifts
along until they are given to the celebrant. Students
with candles may proceed the gift passing.

Prayer over the Gifts Dear God, you know and love each of us personally.
May the bread and wine we offer be a sign of the
peace and joy you offer us in your kingdom, where
you live with Jesus, your Son, in union with the Holy
Spirit, one God for ever and ever.

Prayer after Communion Dear God, you know and love us personally. Your
Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, gave his Body and Blood in
the Eucharist as a sign of your love for us. Through it
may we come to experience your love, and in turn
love others. We ask this through Jesus your Son and
in union with the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and
ever.
All: Amen.

Final Blessing May God make you steadfast in faith, joyful in hope,
and untiring in love all the days of your life.
All: Amen.
May almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son,
and the Holy Spirit.
