Statement of Purpose

I am very pleased to express my spirit to join Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the

Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology of The University of Suwon, South Korea.
In 2006, I was admitted to the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in
Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh through a competitive admission test which was
the hallmark of my success and it helped me to meet the rigor of this demanding position.
The graduation curriculum in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering has provided me a
strong foundation in understanding the myths of DNA, RNA and proteins to meet present
and future unrevealed challenges and to overcome limitations. In my study era, I have
acquainted with Microbiology, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Genetics, Oncology,
Molecular Biology, Industrial Biotechnology, Human Physiology, Agricultural
Biotechnology, Biotechnology of Microbial System, Medical and Pharmaceutical
Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Environmental Biotechnology, Advanced
Immunology and Human Genetic Disorders, and relevant from an immense and well-
arranged syllabus. By dint of endless hard work together with great passion I achieved
GPA 3.60 out of scale 4 in MSc program. I also attended IELTS and scored 6.0.

Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I have conducted various practical

works and a couple of research works in my university and Institute of Food and
radiation Biology (IFRB) of Atomic Energy Research Establishment (AERE),
Bangladesh which have motivated me to engage myself in research work. Our
government has to provide fund for free primary education to even Bachelor Degree. This
is a gigantic task for such a poor country. For this, research fund is insufficient for higher
education in our country. At this moment, there is no scope for me to have advanced
study in my preferred field in Bangladesh. So, I have the only option to study abroad. I
have learned from the web about The University of Suwon and its strong research-
oriented background, good reputation of high quality education standards, extremely
distinguished faculty members, research facilities and its practical and visionary goals
which have motivated me for choosing this institute to pursue my higher studies. Higher
study will enable me to develop my skill properly. If I get chance to enroll in this
university, I will utilize the chance properly for my future career.

I am very interested to join in the team of Professor Hyung Jong Jin of the Department of
Bioscience and Biotechnology of The University of Suwon. He is performing innovative
research on Biotechnology. His group is dedicated to reveal the mechanism of action
antibiotic resistance by bacterial proteins (Erm). I hope to learn much more knowledge in
this research area to renovate my existing concepts and the conventional mode of
thinking. After completing higher education from The University of Suwon, I wish to

continue my research in any research institute and university in Korea or in Bangladesh. I
would welcome the opportunity to discuss the possibility of becoming a part of a research
team. I believe that this has been of great benefit to me. Since I have earned both
theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Biological sciences, I am able to carry
out study and research based studies, extensively. Thus, I will engage myself in the
pursuit of a career in Biological sciences research.
