I have some really great news. Don’t let this get by
you. There are over seven billion people in the world. If
all were lined up and walked past God, He would look
each one in the eye and say, “I love you.” And one of
those would be you. Didn’t I tell you? That is really great
news.
What burdens your heart on behalf of God? To
find out will you fast with me during the next 52 days?
Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem in 52 days. Prior
to that he fasted and prayed.
I know fasting sounds odd to some, so let me explain.
Fasting involves denying yourself something for a brief
time, and during that time focus and concentrate on
God. It doesn’t have to be food, though it often is. It
doesn’t have to be every day. It might be three times a
week, or once each week during the next 52 days.
Here are some examples: 1) Skip a meal (one or two
during the week) and during that 30 minute meal time
pray and listen for God’s whispers. 2) Some of you watch
a special T.V. program each week or daily. Turn off that
T.V. and use the silence to read God’s word and listen
to God’s whispers. 3) What about that cell phone or
social media? For one hour it is turned off and you
concentrate on God’s whisper.
My hope is you will allow God to burden your
heart and “rebuild a wall”. It is my experience that God
whispers more often than He shouts. So listen carefully.
For those who feel led to fast let’s do it through July
11. That would be 52 days from May 26. Let’s make a
difference in 52 days.

whispers to me more often than He shouts.
Here are three of my burdens: First, I am burdened
for the lost. Second: I am burdened for church unity. I
can get hot mad or cry tears when someone divides or
criticizes the church. Third: I hurt for the senior saints
who are finishing their race alone and away from the
church they once attended.

MISSIONS 3ON3 BASKETBALL
Saturday, June 2, is our third annual tournament for
missions. Event takes place at the AUM Athletics
Complex. Register online or in the church office. $60 per
team if registered by May 23 (includes T-Shirt).
1J2 Ministry - In addition to our Hyde Park location,
we will partner with MBA and also serve the Mixteco
community at Highland Gardens Baptist Church. 1J2 will
occur June 4-8 and July 30 - August 3.
SUMMER MISSION TRIP - NASHVILLE
We will have a FUGE Info meeting Sunday, June 3
immediately following the 10:30 service. All attending
students and parents and chaperones should be present.
SUPER SUMMER ALABAMA - July 9-13.
You may still register to attend. The cost per person is $200
for new registrants. Speak to Cleve or Karen for details.
SUMMER SUNDAY EVENINGS
This Summer, our students will have a variety of events
and activities happening on Sunday evenings. Some
Sundays our entire group will meet together, and other
Sundays we may split up by LifeGroups or by gender. A
complete calendar of activities will be posted soon.
BISCUITS BASEBALL SIGNUP - Sunday, July 22, the
student ministry will attend a Biscuits baseball game at
Riverwalk Stadium. The cost to attend is $10 per person.

Miniature Horse Farm, and a stop at the Amish Craft Farm

Needed for VBS
We are in need of these items for VBS. Please leave items
in the ministry baskets around the church (we do not need
Pringles cans anymore, but we still need lots of soup and
vegetable cans for VBS):
• 10 ¾ oz soup or vegetable cans, empty and cleaned out
• Odds and ends – buttons, pompoms, nuts, bolts, ribbon,
& jewels
First Responder Team
If you are a Doctor, Nurse, EMT, Paramedic or have
medical training and would like to volunteer for our
EBC First Responder Team please see Barry Prestage,
Billy Dickey or Art Long. From time to time medical
emergencies arise and we would like to have a list of those
willing to step in and lend aid until additional emergency
services arrive. You may contact Barry Prestage at 334-
224-6370 (bdp521@gmail.com) or Billy/Art in the church
office. We will have a quick meeting after the conclusion
of the 1st and 2nd services to discuss more information
Church-Work Day
Saturday, June 9th from 7am to noon.
We need volunteers to help clean up, and trim up grounds
of church property. Remember the date, June 8th at 7am.

Eastmont Prayer Ministry
Our church provides an essential prayer ministry
to our members, relatives, and friends that request our
prayers. However, to achieve the effectiveness of our
Prayer Ministry, we need the help of our church members.
When prayer cards are placed in the Prayer Room, they
must be updated every 30 days. If the prayer request was
important when it was requested, then it must be equally
important to be updated.
We want to maintain an effective prayer ministry, but
we must rely on the prayer cards being updated monthly.
In validating prayer cards, we have discovered that people
we have been praying for have been healed, returned to
work, moved, or have died without the knowledge of
the prayer room. The Prayer Room needs your help by
keeping your prayer cards current. We thank you!
Disability Ministry
Interpreter services are being offered for the 10:30 AM
service and Wednesday night prayer service.
Thank you notes received by the church are displayed
on the bulletin board outside the church office.
