issue one of OLD TD-lli NEWS. No change has been made in any scene or any title.

All are exact reprints of original films. However the contents of this reel

were taken from many reels of the era. Research of many reels was undertaken

to assure a maximum of interesting material in a short space of time.

is considered to be a Chaplin film. Cast includes the Ke ~lsto n e Kops .
Nabel Normand , Chester Conklin, Mack Swain and most of the Keystoners .
TILLIE WAKES UP features Marie Dressler ( 1-13-17)
This mus t no . be confused wi th the Sennett "Ti llie" feature. It
ws made by World Film at Fort Lee N J with Harie Dressler. Leading
man is Johnny Hines. William V Mong is in the cast. Scenes were
taken at New Jersey resorts and the~e is colorf ul carnival action.

many problems as it did not fit into the , ype of releases shown. Most

young J09n Gilbert. From the play by Charles Rann Kennedy. Obviously
not for,
the 1920 movie aUdiences. In retrospect, a landmark film.

the first star. Leading lady is Enid Markey. Still fabulous.

.llso kno\\ln as "The Cosmic Drama" and "Evolution". Pioneer
documentary by Dr Raymond L Ditmars not appreciated at the time and
forgotten in later years. His collection of animal films was fantastic and
they were used in this film.
CHARLIE CH."PLIN'S BURLES 'JUE OF CARMEN (6-1-16)
P c oduced by Chaplin as a 2 reeler. Expand d into a featurette
after he left. Ben Turpin appears in the added footage but there is never
a scene in which both Chaplin and Turpin appear. Work of intercutting is
an excellent example of hhe tricks employed in the early days.Edna
purviance, Leo White appear also. Good fun. Enjoyable.
