SYMPTOMS

Problem Statement:

When creating a payroll with a monthly calendar, the period start date is the last day of the previous month and the period end date is the
30th of the following month.

For example:

First period end date is 30-Apr-20XX, first period start date should be1-Apr-20XX but it is being defined as the period start date of 31-
Mar-20XX and the period end date of 30-Apr-20XX.
The next period start date is 1-May-20XX and end date is 30-May-20XX.

Expected behavior is that pay periods will have a start date of the first day of the month and the end date will be the last day of the month.

CAUSE

When defining a payroll with a Calendar Month as the period type and a first period end date for a month that does not have 31 days, the
choice of applying the first period end date to all subsequent pay periods was chosen.

Although when defining a payroll with a Calendar Month as the period type and a first period end date for a month that does not have 31
days, there is a decision window that is displayed when attempting to save the payroll description. The decision window displays the
following:

You have specified a first period end date that may result in some periods having a different end date that the first period.

Please choose one of the following actions:

Yes: To use the calendar end of period dates even where these vary for each pay period.
No: To apply your first period end date to all subsequent pay periods.

This choice may create some pay periods that have fewer days than usual.

Cancel: To cancel this operation. You can then specify a different first period end date.

SOLUTION

To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
